We’re incredibly proud of our Sales Manager, Peter Shaw, who last month completed the London Marathon in an impressive time of 03:33:25. Peter was raising money for the fantastic local charity FaNs (Friends & Neighbours) Association Essex, which supports older people living in residential care homes by helping them stay connected with their local communities through initiatives designed to prevent loneliness and grant wishes.
The whole team got involved in the fundraising efforts, taking part in a cake sale and sweepstake, helping to raise an amazing total of more than £1,500.
A huge congratulations to Peter and thank you to everyone who supported such a worthwhile cause.
We’re committed to working with partners who share our environmental values. Recently, one of our recruitment partners recognised our collaboration through their support of Trees for Life, a Scottish rewilding charity focused on planting native trees and restoring wildlife habitats.
Thanks to this partnership, a new tree will be planted in the Caledonian Forest, helping create a natural haven for future generations.
Small changes, meaningful progress — and we’re committed to continuing the journey.
As part of our continued commitment to reducing our environmental impact, we have recently made a change to some of our packaging materials by switching from heavy‑duty vinyl tape to brown water‑activated paper tape.
This change forms part of our wider approach to making more responsible and sustainable decisions across the business. Water‑activated paper tape is made from renewable, paper‑based materials and uses a plant‑based adhesive, offering a more environmentally friendly alternative to traditional plastic tape. Unlike vinyl tape, which must be removed before cardboard can be recycled, water‑activated tape can be recycled along with the box itself. This helps to reduce plastic waste, improve recycling efficiency, and prevent contamination of recycling streams. The paper tape is also biodegradable and creates a strong, tamper‑evident seal while using less material overall.
While this is a small change, it reflects our ongoing commitment to continually reviewing our processes and making improvements where we can to support more sustainable working practices. We see this as one of many practical steps we are taking to reduce our environmental footprint and operate more responsibly for the future.
